THEME: REJOICE
Luke 15:4-7

“What man of you, having a hundred sheep, if he loses one of them, does not leave the ninety-nine in the wilderness, and go after the one which is lost until he finds it? And when he has found it, he lays it on his shoulders, rejoicing. And when he comes home, he calls together his friends and neighbors, saying to them, ‘Rejoice with me, for I have found my sheep which was lost!’ I say to you that likewise there will be more joy in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine just persons who need no repentance.

INSIGHT

-Jesus taught the parable of lost sheep which symbolised His mission of reconciling us to the Father. For we have all sinned & fallen short of the glory of God, we should humbly ask for forgiveness as He is faithful to forgive us. In forgiving all those who wrong us, we are reconciled to them & unlock our own forgiveness. Christ is the good Shepherd & we are His sheep, for He laid His life for us. Sheep have a characteristic of being obedient to their master unlike goats which are mostly defiant. Through our repentance & obedience, there is much rejoicing in heaven.

SUMMARY

-Jethro, Moses father-in-law rejoiced for the Lord had delivered the Israelites from the oppression of the Egyptians/ evil one. Christ died, resurrected & lives forevermore. Even when we were dead in trespasses, God made us to sit in the high places through Jesus Christ in His great love, mercy & grace; as His sons.

-We are reminded to rejoice always, pray without ceasing & in all thing give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for us.

-When we rejoice in God; we recognise that He is our creator, sustainer, protector, Helper, provider & therefore appreciate, honor, revere & give Him thanks for all things.

-We are called to rejoice with those who rejoice & weep with those who weep. In doing so we are mindful of our neighbour & the love of God manifests in us.

PRAYER

We humbly, ask You Father, to forgive us our trespasses for we have sinned & fallen short of Your glory. Help us Lord to always be obedient to You as we seek first Your Kingdom & Your righteousness. May Your grace abound in us forever. We praise, honor & give You thanks for all things. Amen

Blessed Weekend.
