1 Timothy 2:1-3
Therefore I exhort first of all that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks be made for all men, for kings and all who are in authority, that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and reverence. For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior.
-Supplications is the act of placing a special request to God. Prayer is offering our petitions to God. Intercession is an intimate form of prayer which my lead to speaking in tongues. Christ our ultimate intercessor & only Mediator between God & us; who gave His life as a ransom for the salvation of all men (Heb 7:25/ 1 Tim 2:5). Thanksgiving is showing gratitude to God.
-It is Gods will that we pray, intercede & give thanks to Him for one another & the leaders in all nations; that there may be peace in the world. Jesus came to preached peace to those who were afar off & to those who were near, that we may be united in His body (Eph 2:17). It is Gods desire that everyone lives a quite & peaceful life in Him, giving thanks always.
We thank You Father, for Your holiness & love for all creation. We ask You Lord, to guide us in electing leaders who have You & the people at heart. We pray for all political leaders to accept whatever results & avoid inciting citizens to violence. Help us in all our needs & to realize that we are all equal in Your sight so that we may uphold love for one another & embrace peace among ourselves. All blessings, glory, honour & power belong to You Father, forever & ever. Amen
