Then the Lord said to Moses, “Come up to Me on the mountain and be there; and I will give you tablets of stone, and the law and commandments which I have written, that you may teach them.”
-Law in Hebrew is written as torah & it means instruction, custom, teaching, statutes, precepts. The first five books of the Bible are the books of law (Pentateuch).
-Just like the spiritual laws, we have various laws in different fields. Laws of finance eg. Law of magnetism states that if you save money today it will save you tomorrow & you will attract more resources. Laws of physics eg. Newton’s law of universal gravitation apply in our lives. For instance, if one chooses to jump from the 12th floor of a building, he dies, thus the laws of gravity apply. These laws occur naturally & when violated, they violate the recipient. These concepts apply to all creative law principles established by God.
-In 1 Pet 2:13, Apostle Peter writes that we should submit to every ordinance of man for the Lords sake. Therefore, the laws of a country are established by the authorities to ensure Gods will of peace & goodwill for one another is achieved. Thus; such laws map out a defined way of life upon which their violation causes punishment.
-Divine laws work in the same way. Moses was given the 10 commandments on mount Sinai as written in the book of Exodus. When Gods laws are broken one feels guilty; as our bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit Who lives in us. It is therefore, pertinent that we follow Gods laws so that we may have peace of mind & peace with one another. The grace of God restores us & gives us strength to abide by His statutes.
Lord our Father, we thank You for we have begun yet another week. Cleanse us from all unrighteousness & by Your grace; strengthen us to live by Your divine precepts & teachings. Teach us Your ways & lead us to accomplish our purpose on earth. Amen
