WISDOM FROM GOD WISDOM FROM GOD
Proverbs 4:7-10 “Wisdom is the principal thing; Therefore get wisdom. And in all your getting, get understanding. Exalt her, and she will promote you;... WISDOM FROM GOD

Proverbs 4:7-10

“Wisdom is the principal thing; Therefore get wisdom. And in all your getting, get understanding. Exalt her, and she will promote you; She will bring you honor, when you embrace her. She will place on your head an ornament of grace; A crown of glory she will deliver to you.” Hear, my son, and receive my sayings, And the years of your life will be many.”

INSIGHT

-There are many leaders in the Bible that are considered wise, but king Solomon stands out. 1 Kings 10:23 reveals that, “King Solomon was greater in riches and wisdom than all the other kings of the earth.” He was able to build magnificent structures, unite the Israelites in peace and stabilized the economy. When presented by a vast array of options to choose from or rather requests when God appeared to him in a dream, Solomon considered wisdom as vital, that he may be able to rule God’s people effectively. As much as wealth, riches, honor and peace are important, he did not give them too much prominence. God considered Solomon as selfless and meek in his request, by putting the interests of others before his own. Apart from wisdom, God also gave him riches, wealth, honor, peace and long life. Wisdom is the principle thing, in all our getting, we are called to get wisdom and understanding. King Solomon was also willing to serve God effectively in his area of calling. As a king, he knew that he would glorify God better given his status having the gift of wisdom. One day, he was called upon to solve a dispute between two unnamed women where one had lost her baby. King Solomon instructed his servant to cut the living child into two so that each woman can get a piece of him. In an attempt to save the life of the baby, the real mother was revealed and Solomon’s fame continued to grow. Like king Solomon, let us ask God to give us the gift of wisdom that we may serve Him better in our calling. Spiritual gifts are not only meant for bishops and pastors, but each one of us is called to influence our areas of operation or domain with our God given gifts, for the glory of God’s name. God created us in His wisdom and knows each of our purposes, we should then ask of Him and serve Him with wisdom for the glory of His name.

PRAYER

Almighty and Everlasting Father, we come before You today praising and lifting Your name high. You are the King of kings and Lord of lords, we worship You and honor Your mighty name. You have been faithful to us even when we have become faithless. You have journeyed with us throughout the month of February in peace and have brought us this far, we praise You and honor You. Forgive us dear Jesus all our sins and wash us with Your precious blood. As we start this new month of March, fill us with Your divine wisdom and grace that we may experience You each day. May Your presence go with us and guide our going out and coming in. Take charge of our destinies and lead us in all decisions that we make. Fill our president with wisdom; together with all other leaders as they govern the affairs of this country. We humbly ask that You give us a wise president and all other leaders come 2022 for the glory of Your name. Impart in all corporate and business leaders with Your wisdom as they build the nation, that we may experience economic growth. Be with all church leaders dear Master, that they may submit their authority to Yours in all their areas of domain, and that many people will experience Your transforming power. Remember all our children that Your word of wisdom may never depart from them and they may always follow You alone. May Your wisdom and understanding govern all those who go to school that they may understand and apply all that they learn. Like king Solomon, give us the gift of wisdom without partiality that we may serve You effectively with our calling for the glory of Your name. Help us to make good decisions that only reflect and represent You Jesus. Only You deserve all the glory and praise now and forever, Amen.

1 Corinthians 3:18-21

“Let no one deceive himself. If anyone among you seems to be wise in this age, let him become a fool that he may become wise. For the wisdom of this world is foolishness with God. For it is written, “He catches the wise in their own craftiness”; and again, “The Lord knows the thoughts of the wise, that they are futile.” Therefore let no one boast in men. For all things are yours.”

INSIGHT

-The statements, “the wisdom of this world is foolishness with God”, and “He catches the wise in their own craftiness are striking”. This can be illustrated through the story of Haman son of Nammedatha who conspired to kill all the Jews in the kingdom of Xerxes just because Mordecai failed to pay him honor (Esther 3:2). He wrote letters to the one hundred and twenty seven provinces of Xerxes stretching from India to Cush. He also boasted greatly of his royal position and established a fifty cubits pole with an attempt to assassinate Mordecai. As the scripture says, the wisdom of this world is foolishness with God and the Lord catches the wise in their own craftiness. Haman in his own craftiness became foolish and was impaled on it. Mordecai and Esther had fasted and prayed for the salvation of all the Jews in the region, and the Lord heard their prayers. In God’s wisdom, Mordecai was elevated and fought for the rights of the Israelites. He set up Purim, a two day season of celebration for the Israelites as a commemoration of these events. We see this story that true wisdom begins and ends with God. We are called to trust in the Lord with all our hearts and lean not on our own understanding; and in all our ways submit to him, and He will make our paths straight.

PRAYER

Almighty and Everlasting Father, we come before You thanking You for Your goodness and mercy upon our lives. Only You are full of wisdom, we praise You and honor Your holy name. In Your great wisdom and splendor You created the heavens. The heavens and the earth in magnificence and power. The earth and all that is in it. We praise in and worship Your holy names. We sing a new song in honor of Your mighty name. The birds sing songs of praise to You. The trees clap their hands to praise You. The rivers flow and give honor to You. All creation worships and gives praise to You Lord, our Almighty Father. Deliver us Lord from all snares of the evil one. Heal all our wounds and shield us from evil. Heal all those who are sick and deliver them from all pain and suffering. Expand our boundaries and grant us the grace to eat the good of the land. May all our plans succeed according to Your divine promises. Bless us together with the descendants with the dew of heaven for we put our trust in You. Bless us dear Jesus and keep us, make Your face shine on us and be gracious to us, turn Your face toward us and give us peace. Amen

Psalm 111:10

“The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom; A good understanding have all those who do His commandments. His praise endures forever.”

INSIGHT

-The fear of the Lord is reverential fear, that causes us to respect God. The fear of the Lord is a spirit imparted in us by the Holy Spirit that makes us to revere God and keep His commandments. It is from a person’s heart, that evil thoughts come, sexual immorality, theft, murder, adultery, greed, malice, deceit, lewdness, envy, slander, arrogance and folly. All these evils come from inside and defile a person (Mark 7:21-23). King David realized this and when he committed adultery with Bathsheba, he asked God to create in him a clean heart. It is the heart that conceives evil thoughts, but since we have been justified by the blood of Jesus we are called to fear the Lord and repent our sins. It is through the wisdom of God that we hear His word and do His will. By this we are likened to a builder who built his house on a rock, and when the storm came, the house remained stable. God’s grace is sufficient for each one of us, His grace to even keep His commandments that have been founded on love, and do His will.

PRAYER

Cleanse us with Your precious blood dear Jesus, and make us clean. Wash us and we will be whiter than snow. Blot out our transgressions together with our family members, forefathers, leaders and our entire nation, and remember them no more. Let us hear joy and gladness, and rejoice in You Lord. Create in us pure hearts, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within us. Do not cast us from Your presence and do not take Your Holy Spirit from us. Restore to us the joy of Your salvation and grant us a willing spirit, to sustain us, and we will teach transgressors Your ways, so that sinners will turn back to You. Your grace is sufficient for us, for Your power is made perfect in weakness Jesus. Strengthen us and help us, uphold us with Your righteous right hand we humbly implore You. Enlighten our paths when we go astray and lead us in Your ancient paths. Be with all the youth who go astray with drug addiction, sexual immorality, disobedience to their parents, that they may hear Your word and do Your will. Restore all the street families and children living in the streets to You dear Jesus and lead them in their destinies. May Your abundant grace sustain us during these evil times that we may be renewed every day and focus our eyes on You and walk through Your path of everlasting life; always. Give us wise and discerning hearts that we may only do Your will. Fill us with the spirit of the fear of the Lord that we may always do Your will. Mold our hearts in the form that best represents Your love Jesus. Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name, thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us. Lead us not into temptations but deliver us from all evil. For thine is thy kingdom, the power and the glory, forever and ever. Amen

Colossians 3:16-17

“Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom, teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord. And whatever you do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him.”

INSIGHT

-The word of God reveals truths and imparts in us wisdom. Daniel was accustomed to praying three times a day and reading the word of God. Through the scriptures by prophet Jeremiah, Daniel realized that the Babylonian captivity was designed to last seventy years (Daniel 9:2).  In Jeremiah 29:10 we see that, This is what the Lord says: “When seventy years are completed for Babylon, I will come to you and fulfill my good promise to bring you back to this place”. The word of God is thus instrumental to impart wisdom and reveal truths that help us understand the plan of God. The word of God also causes us to grow spirituality and mature through faith in Christ. When we meditate on the word of God and act upon it, we receive God’s blessings (Psalms 1) and become prosperous and successful (Joshua 1:8). The word of God is our spiritual food that enables us to glorify God and witness Him to others.

PRAYER

Abba Father, we come before You today thanking You for the gift of life and the gift of salvation upon our lives. Your word is a lamp for our feet and a light on our path, teach us Your ways merciful Father. Teach us Your ways and help us to honor You with our lips always. Teach us to follow Your will Lord. Reveal to us Your purposes in our lives and order our steps. Fill us with Your wisdom that we may know You more and willingly follow Your word. Give us the wisdom to discern the times and guide us in our purposes as documented in heaven. Align Your angels and destiny helpers to help us accomplish our destinies. Those whose stars have been stolen from them, may You remember them and get them back on track for the glory of Your name. Guide all the children living in the street in their divine missions and unite them with their families. Guide us Lord as we mediate of Your word, that we may be established in You and receive all Your promises for our lives. Be with all those who do not know You Jesus that You may grant unto them the gift of salvation. May the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit, be with us now, and forevermore. Amen

1 Corinthians 1:30-31

“But of Him you are in Christ Jesus, who became for us wisdom from God—and righteousness and sanctification and redemption— that, as it is written, “He who glories, let him glory in the Lord .”

INSIGHT

-God has given us the gift of eternal life through His only begotten Son; Jesus Christ. Since the Jews sort for signs and the Greeks for wisdom, we who have received Christ in our hearts are neither Jews nor Greeks but are one in Him. If we are one in Christ, we have various gifts from the Holy Spirit to demonstration both power and wisdom of Christ for the glory of His name. Christ is the wisdom of God in us and we are called to abide in Him as He abides in us.

SUMMARY

Ants are tiny creatures but have enormous wisdom. Ants are considered wise in the Bible (Proverbs 6:6-11). They have no captain or overseer but ensure they work hard and fulfill their mandate faithfully. Like in the parable of the faithful servant, ants work unsupervised and when the Master comes, He finds them doing what they are called to do and receive their reward (Matthew 24:45-51). Ants are resilient and never quit. If an obstacle comes their way, they look for an alternative route to succeed in their mission. Where there is no way, they improvise a bridge and when their nests are destroyed, they build others. Like a Christian, our faith in Christ should never fail. Ants are wise to know and redeem time. They do not waste time waiting for winter to come but work hard, gathering during summer and have abundance during winter. They save their food for a rainy day. They also stay positive knowing that winter will not last forever and better will soon come by. We are called to focus our eyes on Christ and give thanks to Him in both summer and winter seasons. They also work together in colonies. We are called to love one another and dwell in unity, for God commands a blessings where there is unity. Wisdom begins through the fear of the Lord and ends with the fear of the Lord. The fear of the Lord starts with humility; for disgrace results from pride. Wisdom is supreme and the principle thing. In all our getting, we are called to get wisdom and the Lord is faithful to give us without partiality. Wisdom that comes from heaven is first pure; then peace-loving, considerate, submissive, full of mercy and good fruit, impartial and sincere (James 3:17). Wisdom should be chosen before silver and gold, for she brings forth preservation. The wisdom of God is designed to protect us and watch over us, we are called to love her and get her at all cost. If anyone thinks they are wise, let them first become fool’s for the wisdom of the world is foolishness to God. God catches the crafty in their own craftiness and rewards each one according to his/her deeds. The Lord cautions the wise from boasting in their wisdom, the mighty from boasting in their might and the rich from boasting in their riches (Jeremiah 9:23), but we are called to boast in Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior. It is therefore prudent to submit our thoughts, intensions, wisdom, might, riches and hearts desires to the Lord, and He will align us to His divine purposes. Jesus Christ is for us the wisdom of God. We are called to die to self and submit to Him that we may be led and taught by Him, delivered and sanctified by Him, healed and discipled by Him; through the path of everlasting life.

PRAYER

In the multitude of my hearts desires, I come to You with thanksgiving. Thank You Lord for loving me. Thank Jesus for loving us. Only You are God. Only You deserved to be worshipped and praised. Only You are wisdom. Only You are full of wisdom. We humbly ask You Holy Spirit to fill us with Your wisdom, for You give without partiality those who ask You. Only You are full of wisdom and love. Fill us with Your wisdom so that we may only do Your will and walk in power for the glory of Your name. Fill us with the spirit of Your fear Lord that we may fear You Lord and only do Your will. Open the eyes of our understanding that we may rely on Your love and find rest in You. Grant our children the gift of wisdom so that they may take heed to Your word and never depart from it. Impart our political leader with wisdom that they may serve Your people with wise counsel like king Solomon did. Grant our church leaders wisdom to serve You wholeheartedly, seeking first Your interests and those of others; Lord. Reveal Your deep and secret things to us Abba Father that we may know You more and seek first Your kingdom and righteousness. Impart in us the wisdom to innovate new things that will bring transformation in our work and impartation to the whole world for the glory of Your name. We give You all the glory and praise Jesus; now and forever. Amen
