THEME: THE ANTI-CHRIST
1 John 2:18
“Dear children, this is the last hour; and as you have heard that the antichrist is coming, even now many antichrists have come. This is how we know it is the last hour.”
INSIGHT
-As clearly outlined, this is the last hour. These are the last days and we are called to be alert for Christ will come like a thief. Fortunately, believers have the promise of eternal life and will rejoice forever with Him. Jesus spoke about these last days and in Matthew 24:23-25 He describes the phrase, “many antichrists have come”. He says, “Then if anyone says to you, ‘Look, here is the Christ!’ or ‘There!’ do not believe it. For false christs and false prophets will rise and show great signs and wonders to deceive, if possible, even the elect. See, I have told you beforehand.” It is then necessary to remain alert for false christs and false prophets and among us, and their mission is to deceive us and dissuade us from our faith in Jesus Christ using great signs and wonders. Like the parable of the ten virgins, we need to keep our lamps burning and spare some extra oil like the five wise virgins for Jesus is coming soon. We are called to walk in the light of salvation and not in the lust of the flesh, lust of the eyes and the pride of life which do not come from the Father, but from the world. Let us also keep praying lest we fall into temptations, keep reading the word of God, keep preaching the gospel of truth in our various capacities, keep reaching out to the poor in the society, keep doing that which God has called us to do and keep hoping in Christ, for He will never us nor forsake us.
PRAYER
We give thanks to You God, for You are good and Your love endures forever. We give thanks to You God of gods for Your love endures forever. We give thanks to You Lord of lords for Your love endures forever. To You who alone does great wonders, Your love endures forever. By Your understanding made the heavens, Your love endures forever. Who spread out the earth upon the waters, Your love endures forever. Who made the great lights, Your love endures forever. The sun to govern the day, Your love endures forever. The moon and stars to govern the night; Your love endures forever. Yours, O Lord, is the greatness and the power, glory, victory and majesty, Your love endures forever. Indeed everything that is in the heavens and the earth are Your, Your love endures forever. Yours is the dominion and power, Your love endures forever. No one is like You, our Lord God Almighty, Your love endures forever. You are great and Your name is mighty in power, Your love endures forever. Great are You Oh Lord and greatly to be praised, Your love endures forever. You are to be feared above all gods and exulted above every other being in heaven and on earth, Your love endures forever. Impart in us with the gift of wisdom Holy Spirit that we may discern true and false prophets. Protect us from the evil one who comes to kill, steal and destroy dear God. Fill us the gift of discernment that we may discern spirits, for Your love endures forever. Increase our Faith and teach us all things, that we may remain in You as You are in us. Help us Holy Spirit to fight the good fight, finish our race and keep the faith, for Your love endures forever. You alone does great wonders, Your loving kindness is everlasting, we thank You and praise Your holy name, now and forever. Amen
