THEME: SEASON
Leviticus 26:3-4
“If you walk in My statutes and keep My commandments, and perform them, then I will give you rain in its season, the land shall yield its produce, and the trees of the field shall yield their fruit.”
INSIGHT
-Season in Hebrew is written as moed which means appointed time. There are four seasons in a year namely; summer, spring, winter & autumn.
-The above scripture; like Ezekiel 34:26 remind us that there is a time & season for every purpose under heaven, a season to plant & a season to harvest. Barrenness of land was common in Israel & God made a promise to give them rain in due season if they exercised His statutes. There are two main rainy seasons in Israel; one during Autumn that is; in November & December when rain falls in heavy showers then during Spring in March when rain comes on in precarious quantities & duration. After these rains; Summer comes & the plants bear fruit like vines, olives, pomegranates, figs, wheat, barley etc for men & grass for the beasts. In Matthew 21:19, Jesus cursed a fig tree which in His omniscience nature expected to have fruit & most probably this was during summer. The tree died up immediately & He taught about faith insinuating that we should have faith in all seasons winter, summer, spring & autumn, seasons of drought & those with abundance. Many are the plans in our hearts, probably their season is yet to come, God calls us to walk in His statutes & have faith in Him, & in the right season, our prayers will bear fruit.
PRAYER
We thank You Father for You have enabled us to see this new day in good health, we give You all the glory & praise. We have veered away from Your statutes Lord & fallen short of Your glory, please forgive us & cleanse us by Your blood. We humbly pray Lord that You may cause showers to come down upon us in their season & they will be showers of blessings. Help us to persevere in prayer Lord having faith that You will answer all our prayers in due season. Amen
