Proverbs 20:27
The spirit of a man is the lamp of the Lord, Searching all the inner depths of his heart.
INSIGHT
-In Hebrew the spirit of man is written as ruach & it means breath, wind, spirit
-The Holy Spirit dwells in the spirit of man & reveals to God the Father what is in his heart.
-In 1 Thes 5:23, Man is a tripartite being with a spirit, soul & body. Same as God the Father, Son & Holy Spirit & Jesus is The way, truth & life.
-In John 4:24, God is Spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth. In Gen 1:27, God created man in His own image. The image of God is not physical but spiritual. Man’s spirit is uplifted when we praise, pray, read the Word, meditate on the Word etc.
PRAYER
Holy trinity one God, guide me to always worship You in spirit & in truth. Create in me a clean heart always so that it may always be pure. May Your lamp share witness in my life as I follow Your good works with a willing heart. Amen
