THEME: ROCK

Luke 6:47-48
He is like a man building a house, who dug deep and laid the foundation on the rock. And when the flood arose, the stream beat vehemently against that house, and could not shake it, for it was founded on the rock. But he who heard and did nothing is like a man who built a house on the earth without a foundation, against which the stream beat vehemently; and immediately it fell. And the ruin of that house was great.”

INSIGHT
-In our human lives we face many challenges & Jesus describes them as rain, storm & winds. The principle of hearing normally relates to understanding the word of God; that we may apply it with wisdom to ensure we are established in Christ Who helps us to live in grace. The Word gives us hope for a better future & places the love of God before everything else that we may do according to His will.

SUMMARY
-Rock in Hebrew is written as tsur & can be defined as a solid material forming distinctive mineral characteristics.
-God always protected the Israelites from danger despite their waywardness. Balak king of the Amonites became terrified when Israelites moved to the plains of Moab & requested Balaam to curse them so that he may defeat them in war. Balaam followed Gods’ will & prophesied that the stronger nations; Kenites which was established on a rock & Amalekites would be destroyed. God also gave the Israelites water through Moses when he stuck a rock at Horeb to increase their faith & sustain their lives (Exo 17:6-7). This was a predestination of Jesus the Rock of ages Who was struck on the side &; water & blood gushed forth from His side. Christ the Rock of our salvation has given us the Holy Spirit so that our spirits may be filled with living water; that we may never thirst. God also provided manna for their sustenance in the desert; a picture of Christ the bread of life Who make us whole so that we may never hunger (1 Cor 10:2-4). We are therefore reminded to trust in God & wait upon Him that we may be His true witnesses. Let us put all our trust in God & He will answer all our prayers according to His will (Ps 62:5-8).

PRAYER
We thank You Lord our Father for all You have done unto us, our families & our nation. We wait on You with humility in our hearts asking for Your mercy Lord. We put all our hopes & trust in You; save us Father & help us to become Your true witnesses. You are our refuge & strength Jesus; direct us according to Your will & provide for all our needs according to Your merciful love. Unite all nations in Your peace Father, that we may live as one people. Amen

Blessed Weekend
