Theme : BODY
In the day when the keepers of the house tremble, And the strong men bow down; When the grinders cease because they are few, And those that look through the windows grow dim; When the doors are shut in the streets, And the sound of grinding is low; When one rises up at the sound of a bird, And all the daughters of music are brought low. Also they are afraid of height, And of terrors in the way; When the almond tree blossoms, The grasshopper is a burden, And desire fails. For man goes to his eternal home, And the mourners go about the streets.
-King Solomon writes that when the body ages; hands tremble, knees bend, teeth fall off, eyes grow dim, ears shut, sleep goes away, noise becomes a nuisance, one becomes afraid of heights & danger, hair becomes white, the body becomes burden to carry, sexual desires cease, one eventually dies & people mourn. In 2 Cor 4:16, our outward man perishes but the inward man is renewed day by day.
Lord God, bless us with old age. Guide us to accomplish Your will for our lives on earth before mourners go to the streets. Renew our inward man day by day. Amen
