THEME: ANALOGY OF THE WELL

Genesis 26:32-33 NKJV

“It came to pass the same day that Isaac’s servants came and told him about the well which they had dug, and said to him, “We have found water.” So he called it Shebah. Therefore the name of the city is Beersheba to this day.”

INSIGHT

-Isaac took a similar path to his father Abraham. Apart from lying to Abimelek and the Philistines that his wife was his sister, he continued to dig the wells that his father had left and were filled up with soil by the Philistines. Isaac planted crops in the land and he reaped a hundred fold. He began to prosper, and continued to prosper until he became very prosperous. Abimelek requested him to move away for he had become very powerful for them. Wells are instruments that symbolize wealth and prosperity. The one who has the wells has the water, and he who has the water has the power.
