Mat 6:33 But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness and all these things shall be added to you.
Seek means to thirst or sought
First means priority, which protects you from doing everything. Also, one should have a sequence of priorities eg. God – Family – Work – Friends etc
Kingdom means governing authority or empire. The governing authority on earth affects our own bodies, work, investments, interactions etc. Luke 13:18-19 Then He said, “What is the kingdom of God is like? And to what shall I compare it? It is like a mustard seed, which a man took and put in the garden, and it grew to a big tree and the birds of the air nested in its branches.
The mustard seed is also a picture of faith (Mat 17:20 So Jesus said to them, Because of your unbelief, for assuredly I say to you, if you have faith as a mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, move from here to there, and it will move, and nothing will be impossible for you).
Therefore, a man has to plant seed and in faith expect to harvest. Without faith, one cannot grow in kingdom principles. A man planted seed in the ground (parable of the sower) expecting to harvest 100-fold, 60-fold or 30-fold depending on the grace of God and hard work. God provides for all humanity in the order of work and occupation. Then we should not worry about provision for we are more important that birds of the air which are fed by the Father (Mat 6:26).
God is love. If anyone loves Me and keeps My word, My Father will love him and we will come to him and make our home with him (John 14:23), which describes the kingdom of God on earth. Therefore, we should seek the best in everyone and love others as we love ourselves.
Righteousness means right standing in Gods authority.
Psalm 1:1-3 Blessed is the man that walks not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor stands in the way of sinners, nor sits in the seat of the scornful. But his delight is in the law of the LORD; and in his law, does he meditate day and night. And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that brings forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he does shall prosper.
Whoever follows the word and is planted by the river (the Word) will never lack the things promised. In his season, he shall produce 100-fold, 60-fold and 30-fold depending on what he is doing to prosper.
Essentially, Psalm 138:8: The LORD will perfect that which concerns me: thy mercy, O LORD, endures forever: forsake not the works of thy own hands. Rom 9:15: For he said to Moses, I will have mercy on whom I will have mercy, and I will have compassion on whom I will have compassion.
The main question is what are you doing to prosper?
