THEME: MOUNT HOREB
Psalms 24:1-6 NIV
“The earth is the Lord’s, and everything in it, the world, and all who live in it; for he founded it on the seas and established it on the waters. Who may ascend the mountain of the Lord? Who may stand in his holy place? The one who has clean hands and a pure heart, who does not trust in an idol or swear by a false god. They will receive blessing from the Lord and vindication from God their Savior. Such is the generation of those who seek him, who seek your face, God of Jacob.”
INSIGHT
–The one who may ascend upon the mountain of the Lord is he who has made his/her ambition to seek God diligently and His will. Jacob also Israel wrestled with God and prevailed, He sought God and he found Him. We are called to be ready and willing to seek God first and His righteousness, and in the communion of God and His salvation grace, we will find Him.
SUMMARY
Mount Horeb, also known as Mount Sinai or the mountain of God in the Old Testament. It is the site where Moses encountered the burning bush which was not consumed (Exodus 3:1-2). Moses also received the Ten Commandments (Malachi 4:4). At mount Horeb, the Israelites under the leadership of Aaron made a golden calf and worshipped it (Psalms 106:19-21). Moses also struck a rock at Horeb and water came out and the Israelites drunk (Exodus 17:6-7). The Israelites drank the same spiritual drink from the spiritual Rock that followed them, and that Rock was Christ (1 Corinthians 10:4).
PRAYER
We give thanks to You Lord, for You are good, and Your mercies endures forever. When we call on You Lord in distress You answer us and set us in broad places. You are Holy Lord and Righteous, and all creation bows down before You. May You forgive us all our sins and iniquities and cleanse us from all unrighteousness. May You vindicate us from every scheme of the evil one and clothe us with Your victory. We declare today that no weapon fashioned against us shall prosper and no tongue that has been raised shall prevail in Jesus name. May You guide us and help us to look to You with all our hearts and show us Your ways. May You provide for all our needs according to Your riches in glory in Christ Jesus. May You release Your gift of salvation to all who do not know You Jesus or acknowledge You as Lord and Savior. May the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit, be with us now and forever more. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow us all the days of our lives and we shall dwell in the house of the Lord forever and ever. Amen
Blessed Weekend
