THEME: BELIEVE IN GOD

1 Samuel 17:45-49 NKJV

“Then David said to the Philistine, “You come to me with a sword, with a spear, and with a javelin. But I come to you in the name of the Lord of hosts, the God of the armies of Israel, whom you have defied. This day the Lord will deliver you into my hand, and I will strike you and take your head from you. And this day I will give the carcasses of the camp of the Philistines to the birds of the air and the wild beasts of the earth, that all the earth may know that there is a God in Israel. Then all this assembly shall know that the Lord does not save with sword and spear; for the battle is the Lord’s, and He will give you into our hands.” So it was, when the Philistine arose and came and drew near to meet David, that David hurried and ran toward the army to meet the Philistine. Then David put his hand in his bag and took out a stone; and he slung it and struck the Philistine in his forehead, so that the stone sank into his forehead, and he fell on his face to the earth.”

INSIGHT

–Goliath the uncircumcised Philistine was huge in stature and frightened the whole multitude of Israel. David did not consider this own abilities in the battle field but relied on the name of the Lord. While Goliath used the most sophisticated weapons, David carried his sling and stoned, and he killed the Philistine giant. Many times are we confronted with giants in life. Giants in form of diseases, medical bills, financial pressure, family and marital challenges, land issued, national and economic turmoil etc. These challenges often times threaten our peace, but our God is calling us today to trust in Him and He will level every mountain.

PRAYER

Everlasting Father our Lord and God. You are the Creator of the ends of the earth. You neither faint nor grow weary. Your understanding is unsearchable. You give power to the weak increase strength to those who have no might. Even the youth faint and grow weary and the young men shall utterly fall, but those who wait on You Lord shall renew their strength. We shall mount up with wings like eagles, we shall run and not be weary, we shall walk and not faint. May You open double doors before us so that the gates will not be shut. May You close every door that we have opened for the enemy to operate in our lives, families and nation. May You make every crooked path straight and remove every obstacle in our lives. May You go before us Lord and level every mountain. May You break in pieces the gates of bronze and cut the bars of iron. May You give us the treasures of darkness and hidden riches of secret places, that we may know that You are the God of Israel, and the God of our nation. May You fight for us and cover us with Your precious blood dear Jesus. All glory, honor, power and praise belongs to You now and forever. Amen
