James 3:13-17 NKJV
“Who is wise and understanding among you? Let him show by good conduct that his works are done in the meekness of wisdom. But if you have bitter envy and self-seeking in your hearts, do not boast and lie against the truth. This wisdom does not descend from above, but is earthly, sensual, demonic. For where envy and self-seeking exist, confusion and every evil thing are there. But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, willing to yield, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality and without hypocrisy.”
INSIGHT
-There are four kinds of wisdom identified in these scriptures. There is earthly wisdom which is common sense and the ability to instinctively recognize right and wrong. Sensual wisdom is philosophical wisdom, that comes through studies and experience. Devilish wisdom is a sense of judgment that is higher than man’s intuition that comes from alliance with demon spirits. Wisdom that comes from above is pure and supreme and given by the Holy Spirit. We discover that through the wisdom of God, good conduct and character is realized. Impartation of wisdom from God activates meekness and good works empowered by Christ Jesus.

Job 28:15-23 NKJV
“It cannot be purchased for gold, Nor can silver be weighed for its price. It cannot be valued in the gold of Ophir, In precious onyx or sapphire. Neither gold nor crystal can equal it, Nor can it be exchanged for jewelry of fine gold. No mention shall be made of coral or quartz, For the price of wisdom is above rubies. The topaz of Ethiopia cannot equal it, Nor can it be valued in pure gold. “From where then does wisdom come? And where is the place of understanding? It is hidden from the eyes of all living, And concealed from the birds of the air. Destruction and Death say, ‘We have heard a report about it with our ears.’ God understands its way, And He knows its place.”
INSIGHT
–The value of wisdom is unmatched. It has greater worth than gold, onyx, sapphire, crystal, coral, quartz, rubies and every other mineral. Proverbs 3:13-15 reveals to us that, happy is the man who finds wisdom and the man who gains understanding for her proceeds are better than the profits of silver and her gain than fine gold. She is more precious than rubies, and all the things we may desire cannot compare with her. Wisdom therefore is more valuable than wealth and riches. Some among us prefer to venture into corrupt dealings to accumulate their wealth which is fleeting and lacks a proper foundation. God calls us to seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all other things He will add unto us. We must be convinced that, God’s blessings make one rich and added no sorrow with it (Proverbs 10:22).
PRAYER
How much better is wisdom than gold and silver. How much better is knowing You dear Lord Jesus and trusting in You that to engage in theft and corruption. How much better is trusting You Lord than riches, power and wealth. How much better is to get understanding rather than silver and gold. You alone are worthy, gracious and able. You alone are loving and precious. You alone designed us to follow You and become like You Jesus. May You grant wisdom to all our leaders and all those who engage in theft and corruption. May You forgive and cleanse us, our families, leaders, churches, and nation from every sin and trespass. May You teach us Your ways and draw us closer to You precious Holy Spirit. May Your name be exulted in us and through us. May You expand our businesses and strengthen our economy. All glory, honor, power, praises, riches and wealth belong to You dear Lord Jesus, now and forever. Amen

1 Kings 3:3-12 NKJV
“And Solomon loved the Lord, walking in the statutes of his father David, except that he sacrificed and burned incense at the high places. Now the king went to Gibeon to sacrifice there, for that was the great high place: Solomon offered a thousand burnt offerings on that altar. At Gibeon the Lord appeared to Solomon in a dream by night; and God said, “Ask! What shall I give you?” And Solomon said: “You have shown great mercy to Your servant David my father, because he walked before You in truth, in righteousness, and in uprightness of heart with You; You have continued this great kindness for him, and You have given him a son to sit on his throne, as it is this day. Now, O Lord my God, You have made Your servant king instead of my father David, but I am a little child; I do not know how to go out or come in. And Your servant is in the midst of Your people whom You have chosen, a great people, too numerous to be numbered or counted. Therefore give to Your servant an understanding heart to judge Your people, that I may discern between good and evil. For who is able to judge this great people of Yours?” The speech pleased the Lord, that Solomon had asked this thing. Then God said to him: “Because you have asked this thing, and have not asked long life for yourself, nor have asked riches for yourself, nor have asked the life of your enemies, but have asked for yourself understanding to discern justice, behold, I have done according to your words; see, I have given you a wise and understanding heart, so that there has not been anyone like you before you, nor shall any like you arise after you.”
INSIGHT
-Solomon loved the Lord and was selfless. Matthew 22:37 reminds us that loving God with all of one’s heart, soul and mind is the first and greatest commandment. Further, we are exhorted that if anyone claims to love God he/she must also love their brother and sister, for whoever says that he loved God yet hates his brother or sister is a liar (1 John 4:20-21). Solomon sacrificed a great deal of livestock at Gibeon that translated to a covenant. Psalms 50:5 the Lord says, “Gather My saints together to Me, Those who have made a covenant with Me by sacrifice.” Solomon requested for wisdom. The Lord rewarded him and granted him honor, riches, peace and long life. God calls us to love Him and serve Him and He will prosper us in all our ways.
PRAYER
God You are our refuge and strength a very present help in trouble. We will not fear though the earth be removed and the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea, though its waters roar and be troubled, though the mountains shake with its swelling, Lord we trust You will help us and deliver us. We love You dear Lord Jesus thank You for loving us first. Dear Lord Jesus You says in Your word that by humility fear of You Lord are riches, honor, and life. May You grant us the gift of humility and wisdom precious Holy Spirit that can only come from You. May You mould us and form us as You please dear Jesus. May You grant us the gift of compassion that we may always demonstrate Your love to all including the less fortunate in our society. We thank You dear Lord Jesus and give You praise, and it is Jesus mighty name we pray. Amen

Proverbs 29:15 NKJV
“The rod and rebuke give wisdom, But a child left to himself brings shame to his mother.”
INSIGHT
-The rod of correction symbolizes guidance and instruction that helps a child learn right from wrong. Without such guidance, a child may lack the moral framework needed for maturity. A child left undisciplined disgraces his/her mother, suggests that when children are left without direction, they may bring shame or sadness to their parents. Lack of discipline can lead to poor choices, which may hurt the family and community. The child who is directed in proper moral conduct will offer rest and delight to the soul.
PRAYER
Dear Heavenly Father, we thank You for all good gifts come from You. We thank You for the gift of life and the gift of salvation. We thank You for the gift of family. We trust You for the future of our families. We ask for Your guidance and care upon us. We ask for Your divine wisdom upon us that enables us to train up our children in Your ways that when they grow old up they will not depart from it. May You grant our children wisdom that whatever path they choose to take may always be ordered by You. We pray for all the children who are lost to the world that You may convict them to sin, righteousness and judgment, and bring them back to You. We pray for Your protection and provision upon our families. We pray for Your divine favor and grace upon our families and the gift of salvation that only comes from You, dear Lord Jesus. May the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit, be with us now and forever more. Amen

Matthew 7:24-27 NKJV
“Therefore whoever hears these sayings of Mine, and does them, I will liken him to a wise man who built his house on the rock: and the rain descended, the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house; and it did not fall, for it was founded on the rock. “But everyone who hears these sayings of Mine, and does not do them, will be like a foolish man who built his house on the sand: and the rain descended, the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house; and it fell. And great was its fall.”
INSIGHT
–Jesus gives an illustration contrasting two foundations for life. One is lived according to His teaching, the other is living according to the flesh. Foundations matter a lot, both in construction and in the way a person views the world. Those who follow Jesus’ teaching are like a wise man who built a house on a rock which is the recommendation to all.
SUMMARY
Wisdom is the accurate application of knowledge. It is the supernatural ability to use the written and inspired word of God to make accurate decisions and provide solutions to life’s problems. Godly wisdom is the capacity to view things on God’s view point and be able to respond to them as per the scripture. Wisdom is classified into four categories:- earthly, sensual, demonic and Godly wisdom (James 3:13-17). Children require to be disciplined which instills in them wisdom from God lest the parents suffer shame (Proverbs 29:15). Wisdom is more precious than gold, silver or any precious metal or jewelry (Job 28:15-23). Wisdom originates and it founded on the fear of the Lord (Proverbs 1:7). Solomon loved the Lord and walked according to His statutes. Solomon requested for wisdom and the Lord also blessed him with honor, riches, peace and long life (1 Kings 3:3-12).
PRAYER
Lord You are the only Giver and Originator of wisdom. May You touch our hearts and fill us with Your divine wisdom. May You anoint us afresh and fill our hearts with Your fruit of love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, humility and self control. May You guide us in Your ways and grant us grace to always do Your divine will. May You wash us with Your precious blood and sanctify us through and through dear Jesus. May You open double doors for us and grant us peace and prosperity in every sphere of our lives. May You bless us abundantly so that in all things at all times having all that we need, we may abound in every good work. May You bless us and keep us dear Jesus. May You shine Your face towards us and be gracious unto us. May You show Your countenance unto us and give us peace. May the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit, be with us now and forevermore. Amen.
