THEME: DRIVEN BY PURPOSE

Jeremiah 1:4-5 NKJV

“Then the word of the Lord came to me, saying: “Before I formed you in the womb I knew you; Before you were born I sanctified you; I ordained you a prophet to the nations.”

INSIGHT

–The call of Jeremiah began through a revelation that God knew him and called him to become a prophet to the nations. These scriptures indicate that God predestined our future before we were conceived. We also note the importance of sanctification or consecration for one to accomplish their purpose. Saul was called even as he was persecuting Christians and his purpose revealed. At this Jesus mentioned His intentions to make him a minister and a witness both of the things which you have seen and of the things which are yet to be revealed. Jesus also revealed his purpose to open the eyes of the people and turn them from darkness to light, from the power of Satan to God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins and an inheritance among those who are sanctified by faith in Him (Acts 26:16-18). Let us ask the Lord to sanctify us and reveal His purposes for us so that we may be effective for His kingdom.

PRAYER

Dear Lord Jesus we thank You and adore You. We praise You God in Your sanctuary and in Your mighty firmament. We praise You for Your mighty acts. We praise You according to Your excellent greatness and exult Your mighty name. We humbly ask You to forgive us all our sins and iniquities and cleanse us with Your precious blood. May You sanctify us entirely soul, body and spirit dear Lord Jesus. May You guide us in the purposes for which You formed us. May You grant us the wisdom to do all our work well and exercise our gifts and talents with excellence. May You protect our children who have closed school and all our youth. We thank You and praise Your name Jesus. Amen
