THEME: TRUST IN GOD

Psalms 52:7-9 NKJV

“Here is the man who did not make God his strength, But trusted in the abundance of his riches, And strengthened himself in his wickedness.” But I am like a green olive tree in the house of God; I trust in the mercy of God forever and ever. I will praise You forever, Because You have done it; And in the presence of Your saints I will wait on Your name, for it is good.”

INSIGHT

-Some wretchedly deceive themselves, and think they can support themselves in power and wealth without God. They trust in the abundance of their riches and often times think that money can deliver from any calamity until they lie on their death-bed and alas remember their Maker. We are called to rely and trust in God, in whatever situation and He will deliver us and grant us His sure peace.

SUMMARY

Trust is the foundation for any relationship. When someone is truthful, we trust what they say. When someone is reliable, we trust them to finish what they start. When someone is strong, we trust them to protect their own. Character and integrity are the basic building blocks of trust. Trusting in God is a system of harnessing true wisdom, otherwise one may end up wasting strength which might be profitably employed. God calls us to trust Him with all our heart and lean not on our own understanding and in all our ways submit to Him, and He will make our paths straight (Proverbs 3:5-6). We may have many plans in our heart’s but it is God’s purpose that prevails (Proverbs 19:21). Trusting in God unreservedly is the foundation of our faith. Jesus told Thomas that, “blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed”. Faith is believing in that which is unseen. Sometimes it is pegged in the Word of God, and we called to trust in Him, for Christ is the Word (John 1:1). When we trust in God and His promises, we are delivered from shame (1 Peter 2:6-7).  Faith is also believing that whatever we cannot do on our own. We believe that God can do it for us. Some trust in their wealth, wisdom, power, connections, beauty, strength, but unfortunately these cannot satisfy better than when we trust in God. Trusting in God’s timing is key that we may understand the purpose for which He has called us. When we experience delay, we need to submit to God’s will and purpose and He shall answer our prayers and hearts desires. When we are faced by trouble and difficulties, we are called to trust in God our refuge and strength (Nahum1:7). When we are anxious and our hearts are troubled, we are called to submit to Christ and trust in Him for He will deliver us and become our salvation (John 14:1).

PRAYER

Your name Lord is a strong tower, the righteous run to it and are safe. We run to You Lord with our fears and troubles, anxieties and pain, and find safety. We run to You Lord with joy and thankful hearts, hope and faith, and find rest for our soul. We run to You Lord our strength and shield that You may deliver us from shame and the evil one. We run to You dear Jesus that You may deliver us from delay and humbly ask You to answer our prayers, and hearts desires. We run to You dear Lord Jesus that You may heal our hearts, bodies, loved ones, families and nation. We surrender to You Lord God Almighty that You may transform us to be more like You dear Jesus. May You bless us and keep us dear Jesus. May You make Your face shine upon us and be gracious to us. May You lift up Your countenance towards us and grant us peace. Amen
