THEME: POWER OF UNITY

Acts 4:32-35 NIV

All the believers were one in heart and mind. No one claimed that any of their possessions was their own, but they shared everything they had. With great power the apostles continued to testify to the resurrection of the Lord Jesus. And God’s grace was so powerfully at work in them all that there were no needy persons among them. For from time to time those who owned land or houses sold them, brought the money from the sales and put it at the apostles’ feet, and it was distributed to anyone who had need.”

INSIGHT

The early church demonstrated God’s love through unity of believers and lived as a testimony of selflessness. They shared their possessions among themselves and those who were in need were supported fully by sacrificial giving, and therefore witnessed great grace and power. This is a testament of true religions where orphans and widows are visited and empowered (James 1:27). It is where the church needs to be, not as a building but community of believers, supporting each other as they have need.

PRAYER

Lord You are Great and Merciful, You are Loving and Compassionate, slow to anger and abounding in love. You have said in Your word that we should do nothing out of selfish ambitions or conceit, but in lowliness of mind esteeming others better than ourselves, looking out not only for our own interests, but also for the interests of others. Lord we need Your help in our daily lives and conduct. May You fill us with love and compassion, and grace to serve others selflessly. May You help us to reach out to the less fortunate in our society and to dwell in pure love for one another. May You help the church to grow in love and unity, and to step up in their mandate for the community. May You forgive us all our sins and iniquities and deliver us from all evil. We love You dear Lord Jesus and give You praise, and it is in Jesus mighty name we pray. Amen

Blessed Tuesday
