Hebrews 11:20-21
By faith Isaac blessed Jacob and Esau concerning things to come. By faith Jacob, when he was dying, blessed each of the sons of Joseph, and worshiped, leaning on the top of his staff.
INSIGHT
-In this chapter Apostle Paul talks about faith which is the substance of things hoped for & the evidence of things not seen (Heb 11:1). He was strategically inspired in the above examples of great men who blessed the younger sons before the elder ones. Jacob took Esau’s birth right & was blessed before Esau. Ephraim was also blessed before Manasseh; which meant that Ephraim would be greater than his brother. This displeased Joseph their father. This kind of blessing was against the Israelites tradition but was ordained by God. Therefore, by faith Israel pronounced the first born blessings upon Ephraim despite the norm; in trust that God would fulfil this promise in his absence.
PRAYER
Guide us Oh Lord, in your ways to understand Your will for us & for our families. May Your blessings abide with us in all things. Increase our faith in You so that; despite the traditions; we may have the confidence to follow Your word. We praise & worship You always. Amen
