THEME: DONKEY
Genesis 49:14-15
“Issachar is a strong donkey, Lying down between two burdens; He saw that rest was good, And that the land was pleasant; He bowed his shoulder to bear a burden, And became a band of slaves.
INSIGHT
-In Hebrew donkey is written as ayir & it means colt, foal.
-Donkeys were symbols of labour, peace, humility, endurance & wealth, while horses signified wealth, war, power & strength of a military force.
-Issachar was Jacob’s ninth son & Leah’s fifth son. The tribe of Issachar, one of the tribes of Israel understood the seasons during the time of King David & brought in supplies of floor, cakes, wine, oils, oxen & sheep (1 Chro 12:40).
-In Mat 11:28, Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.
PRAYER
We thank You Father, for Your loving kindness & tender mercies upon our lives. We cast all our burdens unto You; for You care for us. Take complete control of our lives & grant us Your peace. Amen
