THEME: GENTLENESS
Hosea 11:3-4
“I taught Ephraim to walk, Taking them by their arms; But they did not know that I healed them. I drew them with gentle cords, With bands of love, And I was to them as those who take the yoke from their neck. I stooped and fed them.
INSIGHT
-Ephraim was the son of Joseph & from him came the tribe of Ephraim (Num 26:28). Ephraim was one of the twelve tribes of Israel & occupied the central part of Israel. Gods gentleness is clearly expressed by His acts of love upon the tribe of Ephraim but they did not fathom that God was with them. He led them by their arms as a father nature’s an infant & healed their wounds. They were preoccupied by the dictum of human reason that they failed to recognise Gods yarns of tenderness & ribbons of love embracing them. He released them from their oppression & gave them provision. Sometimes we are also submerged into our own personal assertions & self proclamation that we forget the gentle care that God has bestowed unto us. This happens mostly when life is running smoothly & pride slows infiltrates our hearts. In memory of Christ death & resurrection for our redemption, we should always humble ourselves & access His love & grace.
PRAYER
Lord our Father, we humbly come before You with humility in our hearts. We know that many times we have failed You in our ignorance & self proclamation, we ask for forgiveness. Lead us Your infants, in all we do & heal us from all pride & unforgiveness. Remove every yoke that binds us, our families, relatives, neighbours & nation. May Your gentle hand hold us fast in all things. Amen
Blessed Tuesday.
