THEME: SACRIFICE
1 Peter 2:4-5

Coming to Him as to a living stone, rejected indeed by men, but chosen by God and precious, you also, as living stones, are being built up a spiritual house, a holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ.

INSIGHT

-Just as it was Gods initial intention to make us a chosen people, a royal priesthood & a holy nation, we are called to offer sacrifices not material like goats & sheep on the altar of sacrifice, but spiritual in nature. That is; giving oneself to God in obedience & doing His will. As a holy priesthood, we are built upon Christ the High Priest & as living stones we are built on Christ the Chief cornerstone. In our spiritual nature, we share in the nature of Christ & His righteousness for our bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit Who lives in us. When we are inclined to His will, our minds are renewed & character moulded according to His purpose. Further, we are called to continually offer sacrifices that are well pleasing to God, that is, praising, giving thanks, uttering words that edify Christ, doing good & sharing what we have with others (Heb 13:15-16).

PRAYER

We surrender our hearts to You Father, take complete control of our lives. You created us in Your image & likeness, may our spiritual sacrifices be acceptable to You. Renew our minds, hearts & spirit that we may be well pleasing sons of Your Kingdom. We praise You & give You thanks, now & forever. Amen
